L’Eroica is a worldwide bicycle race that focuses on recreating the spirit of cycling of the era, including vintage bicycles and clothing. 1997 began in Tuscany, Italy, and events are now held around the world. Participants race on pre-1987 bicycles and costumes in pursuit of a classic cycling experience.

Regulations for participating bicycles

- Chromoly or other steel frame made before 1987 (some aluminum acceptable, but not cyclocross or time trial vehicles)
- Shift lever must be on the frame
- Pedals must be toe clips & straps
- Brake cables must not be stored in the handlebars
- Wheels must have low-profile rims with at least 32 spokes
